IMBA-Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is an internationally recognized research institute focusing on molecular medicine, stem cell research and RNA biology; and is home for 200 scientists of over 30 nationalities. It locates in the Vienna Biocenter Campus, very close to the city center of Vienna. We have a vacancy for a full-time research technician to join the team of Bon-Kyoung Koo´s lab.
The main responsibilities will be:
1) supporting research projects in the group including basic cellular & molecular works (Intestine organoid culture, basic tissue culture, genotyping PCR, and genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 technique) and
2) maintaining the lab infrastructure including purchasing and restocking.
Successful applicants should have a strong background in molecular biology and tissue culture. Working experience with mammalian model organisms is not required but highly beneficial. He or she should be friendly, well-organized, highly motivated and willing to learn new techniques. An ability to work as a team and good English communication skill are essential.
