Research Scientist (f/m/d) - in vivo Gene Therapy

Full-time and permanent

to join our team and contribute to our collaborative drug discovery projects.

Your key responsibilities:

  • With your deep knowledge in in vivo pharmacology you will contribute intellectually and practically to preclinical (PK&PD) in vivo studies
  • Applying a variety of techniques in the design and execution of pharmacological studies in rodents
  • Supporting the existing activities as well as establishing novel in vivo models, know-how and capabilities within the in vivo Gene Therapy Department at Evotec Austria
  • In response to new business opportunities you will work efficiently with other scientists within the company and/or external platforms
  • You will successfully present Evotec externally to collaborators in in vivo Gene Therapy and/or integrated drug discovery projects
  • Utilize a spectrum of technologies to characterize and validate animal models as well as to monitor and characterize compound action in vivo and ex vivo
  • Closely collaborate with your team members, project leaders and members from other teams
  • Data analysis, presentation and reporting within your project team using standard scientific software (Microsoft Office Suite, GraphPad Prism)

Your ideal qualifications:

  • Bachelor, Master studies or Ph.D. in biology, pharmacology or veterinary medicine in the field of biological sciences, in vivo pharmacology or related subjects
  • Strong scientific credentials and knowledge of transgenic animal models as well as hands-on experience with rodent preclinical studies
  • Experience with in vivo optical imaging approaches and familiarity with instrumentation (e.g. IVIS bioimager) is helpful
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with internal and external scientists
  • High level of initiative in planning and performing studies, multi-tasking and troubleshooting
  • Previous work experience in Pharma, Biotech, or a CRO would be an advantage
  • Possession of a FELASA B certificate would be helpful, but not required
  • Well organized, able to work independently and to contribute to the progress of your projects
  • Good command of German and English language – both written and spoken
