Ares Genetics is a Vienna based digital diagnostics start-up that develops and commercializes next generation solutions for the diagnosis and surveillance of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Ares Genetics builds on ARESdb, one of the world’s most comprehensive proprietary databases on the genetics of AMR, and its ARES Technology Platform, a unique artificial intelligence powered bioinformatics AMR platform. Together with our parent company OpGen, we combat infectious diseases with innovative solutions for molecular testing.

To help support our growing NGS service and software business, we are currently recruiting a Manager, Lead Generation (m/f/d) for a staff function role with an unlimited full-time employment contract.


Your role at Ares Genetics

The Lead Generation Manager is responsible for supporting commercial activity at Ares Genetics. As someone who enjoys communicating and building relationships, you will focus on generating new and pre-qualified leads for sales through various outreach activities. You have an affinity for organization, especially when it comes to supporting the sales team in reaching their goals. You will be able to ensure a smooth sales process from outreach campaigns to lead generation to CRM reporting. You directly support the Head of Business Development at Ares Genetics with the organization and execution of sales tactical activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Report to the Head of Business Development and help Ares Genetics grow our commercial channel for our NGS lab-services and software offerings
  • Maintain and curate the sales CRM to ensure accurate information and reporting capabilities
  • Conceptualize, organize and execute outreach campaigns for different market segments
  • Generate new qualified leads to maintain a healthy sales pipeline
  • Communicate and nurture new and existing customer relationships
  • Track and report the sales performance metrics (such as sales cycle) on a monthly basis to ensure target goals are met by the sales team



As the ideal candidate, you are efficient and well-organized. While being a self-starter, you also enjoy being an integral part of a multidisciplinary, international team. You fit the following criteria:

  • BSc or equivalent scientific degree in microbiology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related discipline
  • 2+ Years of experience in lead generation and management of the sales funnel
  • Working knowledge of CRM software use and maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills, listening skills, presentation skills, and customer service skills
  • Experience with clients in clinical microbiology, infection prevention, public health laboratories, or a related field is a plus
  • Fluent in German and English (bilingual preferred)

We offer a competitive salary package which will, depending on your relevant professional expertise and experience, significantly exceed the minimum of 44.660,00 € annually as defined in the Austrian IT-Collective Agreement 2022 "Kollektivvertrag für Informationstechnologie, Tätigkeitsfamilie ST1”.
