The project focuses on developing an enzyme-based biosensor for rapid and reliable point-of-need applications, using potentiostatic measurements. Electrochemical biosensors use immobilized enzymes on the electrode surface which ensure high substrate specificity, enabling the detection of target compounds through redox reactions. The project aims to optimize enzyme stability, selectivity, and signal strength by refining immobilization strategies. A key challenge, the selectivity for the target compound, will be addressed through a multi-enzyme, multi-electrode setup, allowing for comparative analysis. This work will contribute to creating stable, highly selective biosensors for real-world applications.
