  • General knowledge of microscale core technologies (upstream, downstream, analytics, automation) with extended expertise in at least one
  • Plays an important role in process development at Microscale  
  • Supports implementation of targeted innovative Microscale process solutions focused on automation and digitalization
  • Executes microscale process development screening and characterization studies as well as analytical assays

Your Opportunity:

  • Responsible for executing Microscale fermentation and purification experiments in order to support the development of robust upstream processes for the production of investigational and ultimately commercial products.
  • Responsible for execution of laboratory experimentation using microscale bioreactors, automated liquid handling robots and other high throughput systems.
  • Activities include preparation of experiments, setup and maintenance of instruments/devices, general error recovery, sampling, sample distribution and processing of results.
  • Actively engages in lab workflow optimization and ensures smooth operations (ensure supply of reagents, consumables etc; lab reorganization activities)
  • Organizes/performs preventive maintenance tasks and calibration activities for various types of equipment.
  • Timely documentation of all performed experiments

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed training with a scientific subject (biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biology) or Higher Institute of Technical Education with technical or biological focus or similar
  • Experience in at least one of our main areas such as fermentation, filtration (ultra/diafiltration, sterile filtration) or the use of (partially) automated laboratory systems would be desirable
  • As our process development labs are equipped with modern equipment, technical understanding and advanced software skills would be an advantage
  • Practical experience in a biochemical laboratory desirable
  • High motivation to contribute to automation/digitalization initiatives
  • Ability to work in a team but also independently
  • Due to the global orientation of Takeda (partners in the USA and Japan), basic knowledge of English is required
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint knowledge required
  • Flexible working methods desirable
  • Willingness to work in a BSL-1/2 laboratory
  • Willingness to take on weekend and on-call duties

Motivated employees must be remunerated appropriately. The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is € 3.389,68   gross per month (full time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry). The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible
